This was the hardest part of the Story so far. That is some insane difficulty spike, suddenly feels like I’m made of paper. In the Stronghold fight it feels like their aim is much better, regular riflemen were hitting me from across the map, never mind the snipers. Captains are getting pretty crazy too, every single one is a fucking raid boss fight now.

Not sure what tips I can even give for this bullshit section. Be fast, aim well and kite the elites, I guess. The turret guy is pretty tough and those shitty things are hard to see, but keep an eye out for them and destroy them quickly. If the freezing one catches you it can be game over.

On my first Devastator playthrough this was where I switched to bottom tree AP build like this: https://i.imgur.com/F5aDGGw.png but this time I will keep going with top tree. I can definitely feel my damage falling off, though. I need Firepower and Weapon Damage mods, need to start using epic gear.

For new Devastator players I recommend switching to bottom tree AP build. At this point in the game you should have 13-14 Class Points, enough to get to bottom tree capstone. Cooldown Reduction nodes really help too.

Should also have most of the Tier 1 mods unlocked and maybe some good some Tier 2, but AP Devastator really doesn’t need much to be strong. Basically same Tier 1 mods I’m already using. It just does a lot more damage with skills and has much better cooldowns. Easier to play than top tree shooter.

Impale does a lot of damage but it needs many mods to be effective against mobs and cooldown is very long, so I think Tremors are generally better. Very good skill for safety, provides CC, interrupts and HP sustain. Can jump right on top of enemies, pop Tremors and start Earthquaking everything.

I would also look for gear with Anomaly Power, Cooldown Reduction and Status Power or Skill Life Leech. Don’t need too much of the last one but should have at least some to heal from Bleed. Can also grab Skill Leech node in the bottom tree instead of one of the Bleed duration nodes if don’t have it on gear.

Shotguns are best for applying mods as they can multiproc. They shoot multiple pellets and every pellet can proc a mod if they hit different enemies. Hip fire for even better spread, try to tag as many enemies as possible. Most damaging mods can multiproc, only few don’t.

Almost died three times in this part but somehow Death Count still at 0 for now.
