Outriders: How Good Is The Legendary Drop Rate Patch?

Outriders has finally buffed legendary drop rates in a big way, so does it actually do the trick in making the game fun to farm at last?

  1. I'm always wary of putting my consoles nside an entertainment unit's cabinet like that. How's your setup work Paul with the PS5? Any issues?

  2. From my understanding of their notes, it sounded like that if a legendary drops and you own that one, the game will re-roll to a different legendary, could be another legendary you already own, or could be a new one.

  3. Yeah you're still not understanding the anti-dup system. The "roll" in question is the legendary drop itself. So if a Legendary would drop and you already have it, then the system randomly selects a new Legendary to drop. It can be the same Legendary as before, but in theory this significantly increases your chances of getting new Legendaries.

  4. Paul, the devs confirmed that by re-roll on dupes they mean roll for another legendary. It may end up being the same one again (very unlikely) but it doesn't just re-roll the stats.

  5. No offense, but they haven't listened. They just realized the player numbers took a huge nose dive after 3 months, especially on Steam. They could have "listened" after one month instead before if they wanted to, but decided not to because they thought the drop rates were funny and fine, lol. First thing they did was nerfing a complete archetype of guns to hell (shotguns) and later class abilities….without fixing all the bugs or balancing enemies before that?
Feedback on these things was ignored week after week.

And now they switch the flip and expect me to give them credit? Hell no. I'm tired of this developer behaviour which is nothing more but an insult to the active player base and therefore should be reviewed as one from any honest person. I gave so many games a pass for these things before. Enough is enough. As if this is the first loot game ever and nobody created one before. They learned NOTHING from past games mistakes, not even during a development time of 5 years.

  6. what's the point of getting all this loot/gear where there is no content to use this in? Yeah you get powerful gear to farm the expeditions….but then what. They plan for no future content. It's like get all this stuff for what reason….just to say you have it?

  7. The "duplicate re-roll" system simply gives you another roll on the loot table if you already have the item originally rolled. This does not prevent you from getting a duplicate. It's actually worse IF the system uses weighted loot roll tables. The simple reason it's worse is that a re-roll on a weighted loot table means that if you get a "rarer" item on that loot table, but you already have it, then the system gets rid of your rare item because it was a duplicate and re-rolls, making it likely you'll now get one of the more heavily weighted "common" items. However, if the loot tables are linear (each item equally weighted), then it should be a great change. Reports on Reddit are mixed — some noting multiple duplicates of things they already have, which would indicate weighted loot tables, but others have said they are getting things they haven't gotten before. If the number of Cannonball items has dropped, as you observed, maybe it's enough to please most players?

  8. I heard they said that if a legendary drops and you already have that one in your inventory that it will reroll for a different one after you obtain all legendaries in the game then you'll start getting duplicates
