All positive points, but I need to sit with this disappointment for just a few. This upcoming game was the hope I was holding to get me through this awful January. And now the weather service has said the polar vortex will be breaking down and my area of the US will be plunged into bitter cold for the latter half of the month. So much for the winter game I was hoping for..
d game looks great, and they shud do like cdpr shud hav done, delay d game as much as necessary until its good n ready

It's so bitter sweet for me. So many delays on this game.
I'm going to use the demo to figure out what class to lvl up first
I am not complaining they delayed the game. I am upset they advertised a date before the project was complete not once but twice. It’s not a good sign business wise and fan base needs to keep a business mindset.
I have my doubts whether the demo will be available on time either but I will be there.
If this game gets delayed one more time imma be so mad. I’m sick of waiting. If I have to wait until 2022 to play this imma be mad
Well so much for my preorder. Guess i will use this money to get something else. I lose faith in a game when its delayed. Everytime a game gets delayed it always turns out f'd up. 0 faith in any game companies anymore.
Lol is this because I just pre ordered outriders last night. I already took 2 days off from work on Feb 3rd and 4th o well I guess. Pretty sweet they are giving a demo for this and being untimed demo is even better.
Did they really change the date? In ps store for preorder it comes out that the game will be on February 1

i agree Prime lot of good news, when Anthem was released i loved it but what killed it was no content, the fact we get a demo on 25 is great i will still pre order it because they communicate . sadly there will be whiners out there you can never please
I doubt it. If they were really confident that they created a completed, working, almost bug/glitch free game, why change the release date? Fine tuning? AKA oops we founds some errors, or oops the game isnt stable or complete. Changing release dates says something. If they really do their job right and plans to release a complete game. Then thats the time you plot a release date. Why bother say we release it feb2 and then eat your words to release it 2 FULL MONTHS. its incompetence, not confidence.

Dude , they literally said none of what you said. You’re just putting words in their mouths, the game isn’t even out yet. Also “free demo” is just community beta testing. Lastly stop defending million dollar companies wait for full release and see what happens. Look at cyberpunk multi billion dollar company made that.

I am a bit gutted ngl…the demo comes much later than the supposed "launch date". I am getting worried tbh. I hope they are just waiting for more ppl to get their hands on the new consoles, dunno. I am pretty sure the game has been "finished" for a while.

If they turned around and said " we delaying the game cause we dont want to "kill" our staff with crunch" I wouldn't even think twice about it. That is a better explanation for me, and easier to swallow.
I'm so happy I decided to back this IP. They have my attention, and with all the transparency, they have my money as well.
If developing and marketing would just wait to set a release date this wouldnt keep happening with every game. I did my research was stoked for the game pre ordered and everything. Now the waiting game begins because of this. How about when the game is done and finalized and when everything works as intended in a game is when marketing can figure out the game hype plan.
exaclty this. Instead of seeing this as a negative, we have to see that releasing a demo is an amazing move and it shows that the devs are indeed very confident with their game.
I don’t think a demo shows confidence. I hope this game is good because I love loot based games and since vanilla destiny I haven’t really enjoyed many loot based games due to a mass amount of unfinished releases. It worries me that it’s supposed to be out on the 2nd and the demo isn’t even coming out until the 25th (I imagine the build is still being prepped and there wasn’t a demo initially planned). I wish they would be slightly more transparent about the reason for the delay. All devs say that they need more time to “polish” or “fine tune”, so it worries me when I here these generic terms.
Sorry mate, but this is not what you saying, this is beta and not demo and we gonna be 'testers' for game, servers ect. Game will still release with plenty of bugs and glitches. Ill be baying game day one but Im not expecting polished, smooth game.
People who pre order way before you… YouTubers jump in.. Deserve to play the demo earlier…
I was So ready to play this game. They have seen so much failure in other games here lately they aren't going to repeat the cycle. I'll wait for the successful results.

The news of the demo is excellent. I normally don't buy games soon as they release, but if I enjoy the demo, I might very well do so

Demo speaks volume! they could have delayed it even longer if they needed being that they're offering us a free demo. After all these developers screwing the community it's a breath a fresh air to have a company who is at least trying to keep us satisfied.

Ok, stop repeating 15 times that they're giving away a free demo. Either you have something to say or don't.

Watching 5 to 11 month old footage of this game and it looking solid already, makes me really wonder why they felt like they needed an additional 4months of development. Im looking at it from two angles:
A) all the existing footage is a development build only semi indicative of final product. Which has some pretty negative implications.
B) feedback from potential customers and game testers made the devs reboot something in the game requiring more development time.
It could be they are using the time to iron out bugs…but no ones reported serious game breaking issues in the footage available. Could be they are expanding content, adding more post game expeditions. Hmmmm i really want to know why they need the extra time and what they are using it for. I hope its to re-record the player character voice line delivery, which comes across as Dolph Lundgren action hero dead/over serious to me and very much lacking.
Swear to gods if they announce announce DLC slated for a Autumn release imma be so pissed at my purchase. In my view a fall dlc release would mean they didnt exaughst their budget so they used the 4months of extended development to make paid DLC that they would just drip feed after release for another cash injection, when it should have just came with the game. But thats just cynical speculation.
I agree i think that was the right call to make sure the game is done right and its not a broken game
