  1. This just brings back so many memories of Anthem except you're on the ground. A lot of games has tried to copy Destiny but failed. People still go back to Destiny because there's nothing like it out right now. Live service games attract players and have them coming back for more

  2. it's missing a load out system and other small features missing like call of duty at launch but you have to be smart enough to ask not just take the devs word for it

just because these devs say anything doesn't mean it's true they will lie to you to get your money

this is coming from an anthem avengers monster hunter player

    they all lie before launch

  3. Will be playing the demo in Feb for sure. Hopefully with the demo, and then release in April, the game will get polished if there any issues like Anthem. I feel like I'll play this game during any Destiny content droughts — just like I do with Division.

  4. I can't even fit all of the disagreement I have here in one comment, even though I agree with a lot of it too. The big thing is classes and class building. The problem with Destiny is gear is the only defining factor of your character. Everyone has a grenade, a melee, an extra ability and a super. The extra ability barely changes how you play between the 3 classes, and especially between the Warlock and Titan. The Hunter's is the only one that feels remotely different, and honestly everyone should be able to dodge. The only big difference is the super, and that only changes gameplay every 5 minutes or so. The fundamental combat and gameplay changes when you have a roster of powers to use, and changes the way each class feels completely, rather than once every 5 minutes or so. Destiny is a shooter with RPG elements, and it looks like Outriders is trying to take the opposite of that and give it to us. From what I've seen gameplay wise, it's much more akin to Mass Effect 3 than anything else I've seen so far, as there's not really a good comparison in recent years that I can think of.
Calling both of these just a Sci-Fi shooter kind of doesn't feel right either, as both of them approach the genre differently. By the definition you put there, all looters past, present, and future are under the same umbrella, and are all just Destiny clones, which going further back would make Destiny a clone of past games as well. Plainly put, this game doesn't have the same feel as something like Mass Effect, Deus Ex, Gears of War(though looks similar), or Destiny, and stating it this way is a very broad generalization of a very diverse genre of media. These were the two biggest ones I have. It definitely doesn't "Walk like a duck." It walks more like a seagull or a goose. Different(with similarities), but time will tell if it's good or bad. Hopefully it's as good as I think it will be.

  5. Let’s be real here: there will never be a destiny killer. The game has been active for 6 years despite its issues. As much as we love to pick it apart, Bungie made it addictive to the point where people literally complain and STILL give Bungie money for the next season and the newest expansions.

The hook is already there. The addiction is already in effect. Outriders will not kill destiny. What outriders WILL do, is provide the necessary spark for Bungie to pay more attention to their community since they’ll have competition.

Bungie is too calm with destiny. They need a kick from an adequate source. If outriders is a hit, Bungie will begin seeing their numbers fluctuate a lot. When destiny gets stale ppl will jump to outriders. Outriders doesn’t have PvP so ppl will jump to destiny for the PvP.

Both games will exist in tandem and compete with each other. Bungie will finally have competition. Something they’ve never really had and the game reflects that.

THATS what outriders will do for destiny. It won’t kill it. Destiny has years on it. Outriders is that new employee looking to make a name for itself. The promising new recruit hired to provide a spark for the genre. The old employee will have to keep up.

  6. I believe destiny would never die. Destiny has droughts where there is nothing to do so you play another game. Always come back once there is stuff to do. That's why destiny will never die. I'm looking forward to this game and will be playing it on destiny's down time.
