Outriders is an upcoming cooperative role-playing third-person video game developed by People Can Fly and published by Square Enix’s European subsidiary. It is set to be released on April 1, 2021 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Stadia. Outriders is a third-person shooter mixed with elements from role-playing games. In the beginning of the game, players create their custom characters and choose from four classes, each of them has unique abilities that the players can utilize. The four classes include Trickster, which has the ability to manipulate time, the Pyromancer, which can manipulate fire, the Devastator, which can unleash seismic attacks, and the Technomancer. These special skills have a short cooldown time and can be combined with other skills for maximum effects. The game features a skill tree that allows players to unlock and upgrade their skills. Players can use different weapons such as shotguns and assault rifles to defeat enemies, and firearms can be customized with weapon mods. Players can hide behind cover to shield themselves from enemy attacks, though health will only regenerate if the player manages to hurt or kill enemies. Players combat both monsters and human enemies. As the player progresses, the world level (the game’s equivalent to gameplay difficulty) will increase. If the world level is high, it is more likely for the player to get high-end loot from defeated enemies.
The game incorporates various role-playing elements. In this video Dreamcastguy does a deep dive review of the demo while talking over gameplay in a review style format. As the players explore, they can explore different hub areas, talk to non-playable characters and complete side missions. In cutscenes a dialogue tree allows to decide the outcome of some conversations, though it does not affect the story’s progression. The game can be played solo, but players can also complete the game together with two other players.

  1. Fake news from fake glasses. It's not a live service, the 3 hour demo is JUST THE PROLOGUE, the whole world isn't just the tiny area we can play right now, you said "lot of guns and classes" but it's already been said that there's actually 8 classes and even more guns, plus unlocking modding, building your own weapons and armor, and hold on…. "Since it's an alien planet, I just wish I was fighting big monsters and stuff"… Did you NOT see the huge monsters and you think they won't be a part of the full game? You're a very odd "gamer".

  4. I think dreamcastguy sucks. Hes giving bad review based on a demo wait til the full game is out dumbass. The demo is the same alpha build that angry joe played a year ago. Not enough to go on, no wonder matchmaking isnt working.

  5. The story is ok, not great. The gameplay even at the lower levels we had access to is fun, IMO. It's playing to the power fantasy early that most games make you wait on until end game. You still need to strategize relative to your class and build. If you just run in to an encounter, you'll get overwhelmed and die. I'm interested to see what the later game and end game are like. I'll probably pick it up. If I get 30-40 hours out of it, it'll be worth the price of admission.

  6. The demo featured enough story to make you feel a part of it…not sure why you feel disconnected…the game play isn't bad either…I enjoyed it and looking forward for the full game.

  7. I think u ain't watch a single trailer for this thing. First it's NOT a game of service, it's single player so you shouldn't get so hung up in the minor multiplayer stuff, there will be large beast and monsters to fight this is just a DEMO, match making not working right it's a DEMO. Also the game wants you to feel powerful what's wrong with that? Increase the difficulty if you want more. I don't get why everyone wants to bring games like this down. Y'all took down the Division 2, Anthem, Avengers, Godfall, Bleeding Edge and now this? Can't we have just one without the community shitting on it

  8. I started out really disliking it quite a bit. I put it down for a couple days then decided I'd give it a little more time. Got my abilities and the game opened up. I then realized that I couldn't stop thinking about how much fun I had! If they tighten it up a little bit I think I might really like this game

  9. Hate to be rude but this feels like quite a… misinformed review?

If you had just watched any of the promo material (that plays at the start AND the end) or taken 10 mins to research, you would know that:
    1) This ISN’T a ‘live service’ game. The game will be content/feature-complete from the getgo.
    2) There ARE alien beasts to shoot – plenty of them in fact! They just weren’t available in the demo.
    3) The difficulty is this way because it’s a DEMO. At no point during the full game would you be farming story missions at World Tier 5… the World Tier will go up to 15 by the time you finish, which will keep the difficulty at a nice spot. Can you name any Beta or Demo where the content was supposed to be ‘challenging’? It’s supposed to be accessible for everyone to try.
    4) The Demo is like, 2 hours long. They’ve stated the whole campaign is 35 – 40 hours. So I think claiming the demo is a ‘significant portion’ of the game is a bit disingenuous.

As a personal take, the skill cooldowns are great. They have stated they are aiming for ia true sense of power fantasy here, not a watered down experience like Destiny or The Division. You engage with loot perks early and often. To me, this is incredibly refreshing and I really hope they keep it up for the full release.

  10. ya , in warframe you kills 9999 monsters with 1 ability , has microtransactions , in 70% of the game you are fighting on a spaceship , AI are more than blind , are deaf to , story gets attention after 100 hours of gameplay , it's so confusing whit all the stuff they throw at you and still survived for 7 years ! i played destiny and get bored after first 10 hours , that does not mean it's a bad game .just not my taste , if you want to judge a game and form an opinion at least don't do it over 3 hours of playing the demo and say you play a good part of the game … i mean bruh the game is not even released ! WTF

  11. Funny how all these youtubers who don’t enjoy the game have so much information wrong.

Then talks about there only being one enemy, even though it’s a damn demo lol

Do some research, play the game more before you talk about it, because you have no idea what you’re talking about.

  13. definitely rough around the edges, but it is 3 hours of a 30+ hour game. with tons of different areas, and technically you DO fight an alien, i bet you will again 🙂 Did you only play technomancer? Because I played technomancer and I did not like it at all. I go to trickster and the game got 50x better hahaha.

  14. IMO, too much motion blur and camera shake, the menu surfing is poorly designed, the sprinting and cover system is too jank, and the performance on my PC while doing the simplest of things is very poor.

  15. Let's just judge the game on it's full release. You might be right I did play 3 hrs of the demo and It's a bit underwhelming. I fear that this will be another Destiny.

  16. I think the game felt good. My only complaint is the enemies heat sinker grenades. No matter where you are. They land right next to you. So you end up spending every engagement rolling away from grenades.

But yes he’s wrong go watch the 15 minute walk through and footage on the end game.

Ya. Think this review was rushed
I feel there was more bias and less review. It was solid

The dialogue I do agree it didn’t fit with the plot and atmosphere. They tried to make the main character the same protagonist from Bullet Storm

When they need one that spoke intelligently and empathetically.

But the game is solid and the fact that they even gave us a demo in the first place is usually a good sign. They didn’t try to hide footage or give us fake gameplay walk throughs

And they clearly stated that this wasn’t gonna be live service.

  17. im not a big fan of the demo, i have grinded it out for a while and i hink over all its decent. IT seems like good ideas that just werent executed as good as they couldhave been. With the 3rd person view it would have been great if they put in some sort of melee combos or system that could have been another avenue to use skills and abilities. Sort of like some abilities in destiny.

  18. The Games big disappointment.
    Horrible movement.
A.i always hit you no matter what.
    The world isn't open
To many cut scenes. Like , everything you do is a fking cut scene.
The aiming is bad. Really bad.
    Story is a joke.
    What they were they thinking.

  19. Seriously? You just lost ALL credibility. If you don't like the game, don't play it. That choice is yours, but don't spread inaccurate information about it if you don't know wtf you're talking about.
