The fp trickster is indeed too squishy for me. Twisted rounds with a "tanky" trickster is something I have tried doing a few times. I like this idea, I will try it. If I don't get it right, I will finally give up on my trickster characters…. permanently

I will give this a try. I have wanted to give Slow Trap a go, but Time Rift is sooooo good.
Nice is was looking for a slowtrap build! Also try a hunt to prey/twisted rounds/borrowed time fp build with the chronosuit. A lot of fun zapping over the map 😉
i main a pyro, but after building up the other classes, i feel pyros got f'cked… I did really like going tempest tree, even lvl'd with it, just wish eruption wasn't such a long cd. and it would have been better if it caused burn on enemies that didn't die from it. I ended up not using any legend sets, all purple gear with ap, cd reduct, and status power.
This is very similar to the first build I used to beat the campaign, minus the tier 3 mods. I only removed slow trap after failing the timed expeditions a bunch of times. Good to see the slow trap get some love with the Trespasser bonuses!
I notice you are using more defense for your last few builds… My favorite builds are the ones that turn defense into offense, much like this one here. The build I use when I run with you on stream replaces the slow trap with borrowed time and the Trespasser suit with the Chronosuit. Aggressive teleportation on the helm hits hard. With all the armor bonuses and a deathshield, it feels tanky even though it’s top tree… I’ll try to post my build in your discord today.

Yea, a guy in one of the discords I am in, showcased this as an alternative of the firepower build, using timerift. Timerift still does more damage and clears a lot faster. Nevertheless, great work here.
I wish I had used Hunt the Prey more. I was getting pinned down a lot in the campaign, and used a sniper rifle a lot to pick off the bad guys.
I'm personally not interested in the Bullet builds in the game. And as for Trickster I don't enjoy Hunter Prey. Yes I know combining the two abilities is OP. But I personally don't like teleporting with Hunter Prey. I enjoy AP builds and they do very well 😁

Personally, I would remove radiation jump for whatever, especially sharp eye or even captain hunter
Also, I think slow trap itself is hard to use for a trickster since the class is more about movement and not staying at the same place. I think it would be better if it worked like ashblast, like a burst that slows every enemies in a certain range.
That would requires PCF to change some mods tho but I think it would be way better
I think all you have left is to make boulderdash good. I'm amazed that you're still able to come up with builds.
Strong twist is garbage. Despite what the card reads, it gives you 15 percent of your base AP so you are adding practically no damage by using it in an FP build.
i use this build and honestly the set bonus is one of the best in the game with it, but i dont use shotguns, i use voodoo matchmaker, amber vault, fatal symbiont or my imploder. I prefer the ones with weapon life leech and of course run dark sacrifice on all and even without using any of the bottom tree it crushes maps
and i disagree with TFM on one thing, u should never run out of rounds of twisted rounds on this build if your running ammo bargain, gives u 20% back, the hunt the pray one that refills mag and the slow trap mod that refills ur mag when u use slow trap. Than again i dont use a shotgun and can output as much damage as a player on same build using a shotgun. Love the vids Tfm, love that i can sometimes share a diff view of something and it can be discussed instead of just shot down cuz it dont agree with everything ya say
I have been using all mid-tree since the patch. Freeze is my favorite. Debuff pyro thermal bomb mid is still kind of meta, the volcanic bullets build is nice with the set because you can spray an pray.
Try mid-tree Trickster. He truly never dies. Use all 3 deception skills to debuff enemies. Knife slows, Trap weakens, Rift shares the pain, and applies vulnerable. Use mods to make Trap and Rift better, knife does not need any mods, slowing 5 people is fine. Yhen use whatever high damage weapons you like, Demascus/Pyre comet-claymore, Guillotine/Anemoi winds-splash, Deatshield fortress-umbra, or anything really. Does not kill fast at all but it is very hard to die. It has been a blast to play picking up all the firepower tricksters and technos constantly getting downed. 🙂

just fyi you get 0% resistance from fortress with your build or any fp trickster build unless you put on damage absorber. if you read it carefully it says current armor and resistance. 5% of 0 is still 0. Also not sure if its intented the defensive buffs from fortress multiplies. so the math would be (armor value)x(1.15)^2 and not armor value x 1.3

I was playing with Slow Trap just yesterday! Made a build similar to this called it "Bubble Trouble". Some pointers.
First off Strong Twist is well…. not strong. It adds 15% of the amount of FP Twisted Rounds adds not your full FP. So if you look on the tooltip for Twisted Rounds where it states it adds 22k FP. Strong twist is adding 15% of that 22k. So you're getting roughly only 3k from it.
Also for the HtP mod, I actually started using Timeblast over Radiation Jump. It serves two purposes. One the slow on all enemies in a 5m range is just added defense and CC, but you get a whopping 40% damage increase shooting enemies in the back. So the longer it takes them to turn around, the more shots you can put into their backs.
Also, this is more playstyle than a pointer but all of that clip regen isn't really needed and with a bit of trigger discipline and shot placement you should only really need Ammo Bargain or Instant Reload. But having both is also a nice QoL mod that lets you shoot with reckless abandon which is super fun.
Also had a fun variation where I used Borrowed Time with Space Time Protection and Gun shield. Basically I just alternated having Borrowed Time up and Slow Trap and really all I had to do was make sure to reset Borrowed Time either when I was in the Bubble or when it was off cooldown. In the bubble I can't die. Out the bubble I'm super killable with Fortress and Space Time Protection buffs in effect. Gunshield added a bunch of damage to twisted rounds and all I needed was Ammo Bargain to keep the clip topped off because of it. No teleporting around but great fun in its own right.
Though my favorite FP Trickster Build would be Chronosuit Borrowed Time with Aggressive Teleportation and Venator's Knife to make it hit for 750k every 5 seconds. Super duper tanky with awesome damage that adds a splash of much needed AOE to my pew pews.

I’m curious to see if an anomaly build using Hunt the Prey, Time Rift, and Slow Trap is viable. Something I think I will play around with and see what I can come up with.
I have been viewing your wonderful channel for a while now. Finally made the time to subscribe and comment. These sorts of builds are what I wished could have been done from the start. New Horizon brought me back to the game (as well as friends). People Can Fly can be congratulated for their efforts. I would have stopped playing entirely if not for this update. Too frustrating and miserable to be forced to play "DPS" all the time. This video was an epiphany for me. My main character is a Techno, but I really wanted play Trickster as it is a type I do not usually play. Unfortunately my favorite skills did not seem to be viable together. Since New Horizon I have made a Techno Scrapnel-Cryo build that offers survivability and can still still clear expeditions. Great team support too. I had been hoping to make a hybrid with Trickster using skills I prefer. I had been so fixated on making it work with legendary gear pieces (I could do that with my Techno build) that until I saw this it had not occurred to me I could possibly solve my problems with epic gear with the needed attributes and mods. This was brilliant! Your other builds are also excellent. Thanks for the effort and entertainment!
Would you be able to adapt this to an AP style build? I like AP builds but hate how squishy I feel when using the typical VK/slash combo
