not to offend but gamescope is always running on steam deck it is the compositor used in gaming mode and gives access to FSR on all games and if the overlay is showing DXVK or VKD3D than the game is using Direct X and proton is using DXVK or VKD3D to translate to Vulkan this is a function on all versions of proton.
