You fight Captain Reiner during the side mission Accolade where you must defeat him to complete the mission in Outriders. He is a tougher boss than most during the early game with his fire attacks but keep moving, dodging and healing to win the fight with ease.

Outriders is a third-person shooter mixed with elements from role-playing games. In the beginning of the game, players create their custom characters and choose from four classes, each of them has unique abilities that the players can utilize. The four classes include Trickster, which has the ability to manipulate time, the Pyromancer, which can manipulate fire, the Devastator, which can unleash seismic attacks, and the Technomancer. These special skills have a short cooldown time and can be combined with other skills for maximum effects. The game features a skill tree that allows players to unlock and upgrade their skills.

Also had trouble finishing him. Keep using (spamming) your abilities and make sure you melee him when he powers up to use his ability, to prevent him from regaining health.
ffs its called wandering flame not targets you constantly flame….they really need to rebalance this entire game and add more cooldowns for bosses….you cannot interrupt him and stop his full health heal…who tested this crap
I beat this guy second try like level 4 using the pyromancer. Honestly get one good cast on him immediately and focus on getting the smaller guys off the screen. Don’t stay put because he uses that fire geyser attack that will follow you around. When you see that bar filling up cast your abilities to interrupt his sequence and deal some damage at a certain point eventually you can just unload on him and finish him off. Keep in mind periodically as you’re taking his health down more minions spawn in so don’t forget to control the room. Small guys first.
