Outriders is an upcoming cooperative role-playing third-person looter shooter developed by People Can Fly and published by Square Enix. It is set to be released on April 1, 2021 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S. It will also release on Stadia later in 2021Outriders is a third-person shooter mixed with elements from role-playing games. In the beginning of the game, players create their custom characters and choose from four classes, each of them has unique abilities that the players can utilize. The four classes include Trickster, which has the ability to manipulate time, the Pyromancer, which can manipulate fire, the Devastator, which can unleash seismic attacks, and the Technomancer. These special skills have a short cooldown time and can be combined with other skills for maximum effects. The game features a skill tree that allows players to unlock and upgrade their skills.Players can use different weapons such as shotguns and assault rifles to defeat enemies, and firearms can be customized with weapon mods.Players can hide behind cover to shield themselves from enemy attacks, though health will only regenerate if the player manages to hurt or kill enemies.Players combat both monsters and human enemies. As the player progresses, the world level (the game’s equivalent to gameplay difficulty) will increase. If the world level is high, it is more likely for the player to get high-end loot from dropped by defeated enemies. The game incorporates various role-playing elements. As the players explore, they can explore different hub areas, talk to non-playable characters and complete side missions. In cutscenes a dialogue tree allows to decide the outcome of some conversations, though it does not affect the story’s progression. The game can be played solo, but players can also complete the game together with two other players.

  1. I'm with you on 3rd person. Looks interesting but I'm not buying it until its been out for a bit and has good PLAYER reviews. Sorry but I don't trust critics or YouTubers for honesty when access and money is involved.

  2. I’ve always said I wish there was a non live service/seasonal FOMO looter shooter that has the loot quality of borderlands, the build customization and tinkering of the division, the power fantasy of anthem, and the story/lore of destiny. Could this be the closest I’m going to get? Either way I’m excited, but not getting my hopes too high

  3. You brought up a really good point. There are HUNDREDS of pvp only games, but it seems so rare to find a PvE only game in this (and adjacent) genres. One big reason I lost interest in Destiny was that almost every legendary weapon quest included a punishing pvp requirement to complete. The other, even bigger reason was that I never really felt powerful. Focusing on PvE means they can fully realize that power fantasy without being mired in endless pvp balance issues.

This game is going to be amazing and I'm on the edge of my seat waiting.

  4. Agree with everything you said and I've said that all along my dude, no PvP is great, power fantasy fulfilled is great. I'd rather have no date than have it change 8 times. When there are that many changes you have to think huge problems are in there. A small day one patch isn't as scary as a 2-3-6-8 month delay is. My hopes are high for this game, so much so I took vacation this week for the original release date. See you on enoch mida!

  5. One of the reasons (and only reasons) I've stayed with Destiny for so long was because of the raids. It is the one thing that has kept my interest but even now it's waning. I would love to see dungeons and raids in this game where PvE is the main focus. If they end up doing that, I might very well give it a go depending on how the rest of the game performs.

  6. I really hope they don't do the thing where new characters can come in with the power that other players had to earn. Not because I think it's unfair to those who have committed time, so much as the growth is a huge part of my enjoyment of any game. This game already has it so that you won't have to build a new character to try new builds, but I'm willing to start over with a new class for a friend.

  7. I agree with most of this video, but with what you said about how Square Enix I just want to remember everyone about Avengers. Pushed out an unfinished game and have barely supported it since. I do have high hopes for this though since it’s not live service.

  8. Hopefully some good Content inc, 1st April cant come soon enough, looking forward to the Demo. Need someone to for any 19 hour smash-athons? Gis a Poke. God forbid, trying to find dudes without families or jobs these days is rarer than a good triple A finished title. pfft.
