Outriders Day One Patch

Outriders gameplay is getting a Day one patch for its release. Outriders release date is April 1, 2021 and it will be getting a patch at launch. Outriders classes and the Outriders legendary farm were both looked at during the Outriders demo. So this Day one patch is likely very important.

The Outriders demo was, for all intents and purposes, a giant success. Tweaks were made to a few legendary farms as well as some locations that deserved a little bit more legendary love. A pesky inventory wipe was patched and People Can Fly are currently looking into the Accolade wipe issue, hoping that is fixed prior to launch. The details of the day 1 patch are somewhat extensive, and it has caused some to express concern while others both expect this to happen and, to a certain degree, celebrate it. Are Day 1 patches normal and good? Or a cause for concern?

  1. This patch may seem minor, but it is major for me. There are no real issues with Outriders. For many (including myself), the main problem is a general lack of polish. Stuttering in game, cover and vaulting random and awkward, poor performance, floaty characters, hollow gunplay, etc. Just in the fact that they are working on some of these is actually a sell for me. Many looter shooter fans who will be taking a look at this game are from Warframe, Borderlands 3, Division 2, and Destiny 2. All four of these games are highly polished. The gunplay, movement, and overall quality is among the best in all four of these other games. By comparison, Outriders feels like a double A game. But it has a certain charm the other two do not have. If they wish to capitalize on this charm to distinguish themselves, I think quality should be the priority. This patch is great news.

  2. I have been extremely pleased with how the devs have handled the launch of their game so far. And, gameplay aside, wether you like it or not, the devs have been very transparent and put out an entirely finished portion of their game for all to see….for free…..that will carry progress forward….and they patched it three times….I'm honestly blown away.
