Outriders – Devastator Ultimate Hybrid Tank Build

This is my nigh final build for the Dev as a tank. And you can see it still isn’t totally finished as I’m missing one last skill leech boost on my pants and my intention is to get healing received with skill leech and weapon leech on ALL my guns just for the tad extra healing bonus on kills too.

So first you will notice I decided not to bother with Unbroken Vow for good reason: I never die anyway! Lol Also I’ve seen those abilities fail to activate sometimes especially in Eye of the Storm so figured it’s pointless. Also I’ve finally realized Resistance does not help you at all. I certainly take no less damage from the anomaly rifts no matter resistance levels.

So all of that is why I realized just maxing my raw health and regen would be the best foundation for a proper invincible build.

And I have to say this is truly god like tankiness now as not a single tank build I’ve done on or off the Dev class can still literally just ignore the Reavers and let EVERYTHING in EOTS expedition hit me and not care or respond too it (but just keep attacking Yagaak that jerk). Even bleed builds must stop and kill the other enemies simply because they’re too frail to last long if their bleeds don’t remain active as will happen if they let themselves get stun locked for too long.

So all 3 of my skills are perfect for tanking. Golem is obvious. Tremor is less used but just as OP when you invest in it fully. My health never drops with mobs near me even without golem and the fortress mod let’s tremor still help me even if there’s no mobs near me, especially on a max health build as my mere raw health regen bonuses become OP in themselves.

Gravity leap is also just as great for tanking since your invincible already during the targeting, gives you movement options in tight spots, and my skill leech maxed means it also heals me a lot too. Yes I know there’s a mod for leap to heal you instantly but that would require giving up one of my other mods likely for Tremor and when skill leech is the only 3rd variant on armor useful at all for me when I have no anomaly or weapon damage to stack I realized double jump with skill leech is enough on its own to heal me back to full practically from grav leaps which allows me to make tremor better for healing whenever it’s active.

So why you may ask do I use sandstorm on all my guns? First shadow comet cancels out death chains otherwise I would use that. Second, death chains is the only good t2 mod for this build when I’m not using legendaries. And since swapping weapons still stacks the mod damage I realized just throwing tons of sandstorms around was best for AoE damage and damage over time when I’m getting stun locked constantly fighting as I do. Plus it just looks cool ok lol…

As you can see most of my damage comes from the Despair mod as it affects weapon mod damage too. So my death chains and sandstorm swapping does double damage too in addition to my second grav leap. That kind of damage stacking with Captain Hunter is enough on its own for me to easily solo silver ranks still on ct15s and not be a burden to my team too much.

But considering Despair increases anomaly damage from all sources I actually buff my team’s damage on any elites we target together.

Finally I maxed the duration and cool down of Golem not merely to further help myself on a tank build since Golem is the best skill for that but also helps my team more again. By having Golem as maxed as it gets on this build my Golem Squad mod effectively gives my teammates’ Golem for half the expeditions which I’d say is a great buff!

That’s why this build is good for teams too not merely solo which is how I like to play: being able to do everything on a build.

This build is a true tank where you feel like an Earthbender from Avatar lol who cannot die period. Seriously this is the most damage the game can throw at you at one time so if I can not only endure it but rarely see my health even drop much I’d call that OP. Not even my Trickster tank build or Techno tank builds can endure this kind of punishment which proves conclusively that yes Devastators have always been the classes with the most tank potential if that’s your goal.

Obviously it requires not using legendaries. There are no good legendary guns with raw based damage (which is the kind you want on tank builds) that have Weapon leech which as you see is the final cherry on top this invincible build. Finally none of the legendary armor sets for the Dev let you max health.

So going epic gear is the only option and I was fortunate to still find a cool looking set too. I like how Golem even transforms my cape into a rock cape lol though I wonder how it’s able to still flow in the wind behind you 😂😂.
