Outriders' Developers Have Made A Paradigm Shift!

The developers at People Can Fly Studios have finally made a landmark decision to delay Outriders for the second time as well as providing a free demo for EVERYONE. This decision is not a simple one because it is a practice the industry has abandoned for years.

  1. I'm still looking forward to this game.
No1 wants a Cyberpunk 2.0 release in any upcoming game.
I don't mind waiting provided when released, the game is solid and delivers. 😎

  2. I've been watching this game. Im hoping it gets me away from DIV2. Ive gotten everything and have nothing more to do. I want the power and they are giving it. No pvp balancing so I can go ham with my OP build mindset. Its going to be great.

  3. The looter game genre died with Avengers for me. I still enjoy Avengers immensely but cannot deny the complete mess of a launch that had been. To Crystal Dynamics credit they have been making huge strides into fixing the game. But… The damage has been done, many have left the game and may never return. You only get one chance to make a first impression and that has been proven over and over. So one of the most successful currently is Destiny, also one of the more enjoyable looters, yet, I find I am sick of the many many levels of grind and F.O.L.O. and feel it simply doesn't respect my time. On the other hand Division one I also enjoyed a lot continually doubles down on the GaaS where we see the serverside goalposts (loot allocation, droprates, gamers builds countered by making enemies tankier than description supports etc) moved constantly to thwart the gamers inevitable progression. So Outriders on paper seems to overcome these issues but after all these looters failing time and time again I'm scared to hope again 🤣

  4. Game looks good but you know what company need to stop listening to social media and stuff and just make the game how they want to make it just like it was before the Internet came out

  5. Putting out a proper demo before launch is a good move. Especially if they're calling it a demo rather than applying the marketting bullshit "beta" tag and time limitting it to just a weekend with almost no time to play due to a bloaty download with limited preload time, 40-50gigs or so download for a 48hour window of play is a massive middle finger to anyone without access to fast broadband.

With both breakpoint and TD2 I played the hype weekend "beta" and decided that the games were fun but not day one worthy, I've picked up both on sales and enjoyed them as I expected I would. On the otherhand I played the anthem hype beta and have spent the time since chuckling away at those who would have had the same access to it as me but still bought into something that was a cool traversal mechanic with very little actual game on top but still bought into the hype and whine about how overhyped the game was.

  6. very interested in this game, seems they actually have a nice plan for endgame..30 hour story content plus 15 expeditions that have there own maps, stories, and does not reuse story areas. too bad its delayed again, but I do not see anyone complaining about this considering what happened with cyberpunk lol

  7. Really looking forward to this game man. I like how they've been open to the community about everything. With the delay announcement I might as well play CP 2077 in Feb and Mar after the huge patches.

  8. I am very skeptical about this game. It looks like it will a poor combination of Gears, The Division and Destiny. The UI looks dated and uninspiring. The weapon reticles and hit marker registration look rudimentary. But I definitely will be trying out the free demo.

  9. Nope, They delay it 4 weeks before release for 2 months. That means the game is nowhere near ready. The demo is likely a Beta they're gonna use to collect Player Data to deal with major bugs. On the forums they couldn't even give a direct answer as to why it will be delayed just saying the delay will improve all areas of the game.

  10. Fully agreed with u on the suggestion that the Dev should release the demo earlier, so that they have more time to collect feedback & fine tune the game.

Personally I make up my mind not to rush in getting any games, so waiting is not a problem, better than getting the feeling of being "cheated" after buying the game.

  11. Game development is tough just like any other industry. Tried growing 10 acres of corn and then try making money off that corn I bet you will pull your hair out and what you have left will turn gray. Try growing a construction business from top to bottom. The world is not easy and doesn't get handed to you. You get out what you put in. 50 hour work weeks is nothing. The game development Community is weak and soft and the leaders of that community are responsible for releasing software that isn't done.

  12. The “old school” way of doing a demo, was releasing a small snippet of a game that was already out, as a kid I’d buy a PlayStation magazine with a demo disc consisting of about 6 games, these games were already out. A “demo” is a demonstration of your final product, people are praising this move by the developer but it just screams pre release beta like anthem did. It has to make people worry that in a delay post they dedicate less then a paragraph to say hey it’s delayed to April 1st for “fine tuning”. I want this game to be a success but would urge people to be cautious about pre ordering at this stage.

  13. All developers MUST HAVE A FREE TRIAL (DEMO) so we know on what we spend hundreds of dollars. But won't happen because in that way we can see what trash they sell for 80-100$ and nobody will buy. I have hundred of games i played 10-30 minutes and then deleted( money wasted) and never played again.
