This video should give you some idea about the limits of your resources specifically in the demo as well as give you a brief overview of how you should be treating your loot. Weapons and Armor have mods that you can collect by dismantling them. Don’t get caught deleting items with mods you haven’t unlocked yet.

EDIT: When I go over the Resource limits in the demo, I say 10 shards, but those are titanium.
I am loving the armor mods right now. On my Pyromancer I have a mod that let's me use my heatwave and thermal bomb more than once. On my Devastator I have a mod that extends the duration of my Golem's skin by 50%. THAT'S CRAZY!

Wow Ok, had no idea about the "window" icon THANKS!. So with the cap in mind this would be the most optimal way is: For gray and green item simple sell them for scrap since they can't have mods and scrap is the highest cap. When you get blue gear dismantle when you DON'T have the mod, this way you collect mods and fill out the leather and iron which is only 1000 each

As crafting isn’t available are we sure dismantling will still take the mod forward into the full game.
currently in the demo, for weapon mod i like the anomaly surge where u deal anomaly damage aoe blast when you crit. and for armor mod i like auto reflect mod for the devastator which makes you able to attack when reflect bullets is active

Hey Magz, any idea if the resources gathered can go beyond the limit allowed in the demo? LIke, if I keep dismantling items, will the resources still be gathered although only the limit will show in the menu?

My favorite armor mod is gravity leap heals me for 100% of damage dealt, 200% if it kills, great to sustain during boss fights. I got an AR with inflicts vulnerable with 8 sec CD, feels like I got a slag gun out of BL2 and I'm loving it.
Is it better just to sell the white weapons and armor rather than disassemble them
