Outriders Early Graphics Analysis – Not That Technically Ambitious But Performance Friendly [4K]

Outriders isn’t going to win any awards for its visuals. It wouldn’t exactly have impressed if it came out in 2016. But while the visuals are a disappointment, gameplay looks to be Outriders’ strong suit, with Gears of War-style snap cover and more than a little Bulletstorm DNA in the mix. Even if the graphics don’t impress, we expect performance to be Outriders’ real savior.

The game’s minimum specs indicate that even the ancient GeForce GTX 750 Ti will be able to deliver a 60 FPS experience, albeit at 720p. The min specs are actually a shade lower than Mass Effect: Legendary Edition, remarkable considering that the latter is a 7th gen remaster. Whether or not it looks good in the process, Outriders looks set to be one of the most performance-friendly titles we’ve seen in a while.

  1. Videos like these are why Digital Foundry are so successful ;D no one else knows what they are talking about. They just regurgitate graphical terms and hope they make sense. Like saying RTX does not have a big performance impact….dumbest thing I have ever heard..loool….oh utubers….

  2. I don't think this game was built for Next Generation. It's basically coming out at the release of this new generation which tells me they've been building it the whole time on last-gen Tech. Common Sense stuff here

  3. Love the artistry. Like the direction. Doesn't look very deep tho. It's hard to make detailed deep games. Takes a long time. Lots of samey stuff already seen in division and destiny. It's a hard maybe for me. I'll wait on it and see.

  4. As long as it's a good game and not buggy as shit cough Cyberpunk *cough*, graphics aren't as important. I'm sure if the game is successful, it'll get visual patches and a next-gen upgrades.

  5. did you actually do any research or are you just guessing? DLSS is not going to give 4k 144hz because the game can't even hold 1080 144hz on the most powerful CPUs on the market. This game is massively CPU limited at framerates above around 90fps. The game needed DX12 or Vulkan in order to reduce the CPU limitations.
