The perk does work. I think they should change the description to say activates by chance. I have a video I'll upload soon of the perk it's like a blue aurora that you shoot and it explodes dealing damage in aoe pretty cool!!!

Best perk I found is the shield perk “every time I shoot an enemy I gain shield” pretty nice goes well with trickster
