Outriders: Hands On With The Worldslayer Expansion

Yes, back with some fresh Outriders content now that they’re actually talking about the Worldslayer expansion and let me play it. Lot to go over, but fundamentally I think all the additions sound pretty solid. Wish I got to do more endgame stuff, but maybe later.

  1. Thanks for doing this, Paul. Very excited about more Outriders.

    1. Paragon points = good – love these in Diablo III
    2. New campaign = good – Outriders has a decent set of quests and campaign before end game, glad to see it going
    3. No new subclass = I'm not heartbroken
    4. Apocalypse Tiers = whatever, I got to World Tier 15, but never got past Challenge Tier 10 (mostly I didn't care after a while).
    5. New gear = I don't care, I want full crafting with the weapon type and perks, for weapons, ditto armor. I don't like grinding for gear because I would rather just get the set I want.
    6. Cost = $40 for a whole new campaign is fine by me.

What I still want to see – there needs to be better survivability for Pyromancer and Trickster. They're way too squishy IMO. Technomancer is still my favorite because healing works best, and Devastator is second my favorite because it nails survivability, but I find is a touch more finicky.

  2. Hey Paul, this may be helpful for you, being a new parent playing elden ring. There's a way to pause the game, sort of. While the map is open, press the same button that opens it agaim, and select "menu explanation". The game will be paused while the tooltip is open. Doesn't work in combat, but it has helped me out a few times anyway.

  3. Wait it’s not free? Oh no… I was hoping this would be the update to fix the game, add all the missing content endgame content, lack of enemy variation, etc. That’s rough. Whelp. Not coming back I guess. Dang.

  4. I feel like I would like the RPG mechanics in this game, but I realised how the gameplay feels is even more important to me, and that's probably why destiny is so hooking to me. This in comparison just doesn't feel great to me at least from the demo. What do you guys think

  5. Cp 2077 will sell more copies of it expansion…. so why are they doing this? I don't think players are going to come back to this "not live service" even though they tune and nerf like it is.

  6. Outriders is criminally underrated. Give it another shot guys. Its so much better than what it was at launch. It got some hefty free updates and the new expansion though a bit pricey will be well worth it. People Can Fly know how to make an engaging shooter.

  7. Outriders gets a bad rap and I don't understand it. I thoroughly enjoy Outriders. It has it's faults but the story was damn good and the end game while not that long is fun going through for the first time and gearing out to min/max power. I am pretty fuckin hyped for Worldslayer.

  8. I hoped in when new horizon dropped and I fell in love with the game. Haven’t touched it since WQ dropped but this reveal looked very good. Im hoping it’s executed well and actually has a long campaign. Already pre ordered it and I hope they keep pumping out expansions like this yearly.
