Are built in comms necessary?
Text and voice chats are a MUST in PVE especially since you have to somehow communicate with other teammates at higher difficulties. I'm sure they'll implement it into the game further down the road BUT there's no way you can avoid it since the game is CROSS-PLATFORM.
Wait are we able to chat in game if we are on the same console?
We need something to communicate. What if somebody needs a bio break or want to change build? Hopefully they will add this later on.
BTW: I love the transparency and the near to the community of PCF. I have big hopes that we get a good game with a good dev team behind.
It would be a complete joke if they didn't have voice chat/text communication in a PVE Open World RPG. Especially a game that's supposed to be a trend setter for this genre of games.
Use party chat

"If players are playing with friends, I would assume most of them are on the same platform anyway." Nope. One of the people I will play with has a PS5, but I can't find one to buy. I have an Xbox One X and a PS4 Pro, and since the game will run better on the X1X, that's what I'll buy Outriders on.
I´m playing with 2 friends. They have an PS 4 and i´m playing on PC. No Voicechat is the worst for this game….
Thanks for this video, I was actually double checking on this feature cause me (ps5) and a friend (xbox) fired up the demo and were soo disappointed we could not communicate. We both cancelled our pre-orders immediately. Shame cause the game sure looks fun.
Here's the problem with no comms, meet a random player, can't strike up a random convo, hence making new friends in the game will be a big challenge and pretty tedious, perhaps even making players drop the idea all together and just soloing or playing with friends who already own the game. Hell you wouldn't even be able to communicate to a random player to add you on discord or through steam or whatever platform to even establish a fucking 3rd part comms system.
To me, I feel its a feature that is required, especially in games now a days. I mean cmon, we had these features in the damn 90's, stop being lazy devs and just implement a simple typing comm at the very least ffs.
Voice chat in any coop game is crucial and basic feature.
It's sucks not having voice chat when ur a ps5 player and have a friend who plays xbox . Why would I want to use a phone or team discord when I play with a headset it takes away from the game
if anyone thinks text or voice chat isnt needed you have 0 idea what youre talking about. its only been a few days and im so sick and tired of random dumb fucks joining my game cause it always sets to default on even if you change it, it just switches, just to have them have awful builds or not even be close to the gear requirement to do what youre trying to do and wasting everyones time. at the bare minimum it needs a text chat to ask these questions and communicate plans or a way to inspect their gear and skills/talent point tree.
In game chat is a musst in my opinion. The game is obviously designed for multiplayer. so there will be a ton of people playing with ranodms. you klick on search for group, get a group and get loaded in a group wich hase the same story advance point. everyone can initiate anything. now one know were to go now. no one can ask for a side quest since there is no chat. and sometimes the conection quallity is unplayable.

Communication is key doesn't matter what game it is(my opinion). Im on pc majority of my friends are on Playstation & Xbox smh. I kinda dont even wanna play the game without being able to communicate with family & friends!

Not everyone has friends or have friends who want play Outriders. I ahd sam problem with Anthem. Could not find a team for missions. And if I want to progress in storz I dont want to join to random ppl who are doing quests what I allready did/skip some. Lots of time someone joiuns me and i cant write on chat that I want 1side quest before main quest and they leave.

This is a really dumb video. We need Crossplay voice chat.
I gotta say. I specifically gave up on this game because of the lack of this. I play on Xbox. My friends play on Playstation. I use a headset with my Xbox, which makes using another service from my cell phone or computer without losing game audio impossible. Complete shit to allow cross game play without cross voice chat. I use in game chat with warzone, blacks ops etc with my friends and its the best way for us to talk and play together being that we all live in different states now and cannot just get together.
Flat out embarrassing on the creators part. Why make a cross platform, multi-player game without voice chat? This game is so dope but you literally ruined the game with the voice chat. This is not just my opinion either I have a clan with over 50 gamers that were looking for a break from apex. We all downloaded the game and were stoked until we found out you can't even talk to your teamates. Out of 50, 2 remain who didn't return the game. There are multiple reasons why this sucks for gamers but the big ones for me were trying to figure out your next move for missions, gear pickups, flanking and fighting patterns to insure maximum damage. Basically all the key factors of the multi-player experience are non existent. Hope they realize this and fix it because this game was almost epic

Yes…..it is absolutely necessary for random groups. Also, if you can't communicate AT ALL then how the hell do you communicate to go to a Discord server?
