Outriders Review

People Can Fly’s Outriders mixes a lot of well-worn shooter and RPG elements to create something that feels fresh, if you can get used to its balance.

Phil Hornshaw has spent about 40 hours on Enoch as a Devastator in the PC version of Outriders, using flying rocks to turn insurgents into a fine pink mist. Code was provided by the publisher. Read the full review on GameSpot.com: https://bit.ly/3mHlHVG

  1. Excellent review. It reminds me of old reviews on this channel. Straight facts and less opinion. Don’t get me wrong. Personality matters but it can also get in the way of presenting the information gamers do care about. God job!

  2. You keep saying gears of war but it looks nothing like gears of war when it comes to the cover system it looks more like division and how the division moves and flows

  3. I think it’s worth more than an 8. That’s a bit low for such a fucking awesome game! It’s fun. Why get so caught up in the story? You want a good story then watch a movie! Games are meant to be for the gameplay. And this gameplay is fun as fuck!

  4. I had no idea you lose tier points the more you die. That makes me mad. Why would they make it so you lose tier progress you've already made because you die a lot? I need those tier level gear to progress further.

  5. Quests available for pickup should show if it’s been completed or not, would save confusion when you have to go back to a location for bounty mission ect….having fun with it so far, great game:)

  6. There’s a large part of me that wants to not give up on this game. I like it. But it has serious issues that need to be addressed.

    My solution:

Reimplement the side quest exploit. Allow solo players to take advantage. For 3-6 hours, announced ahead of time, it’s a free for all. Players can pick armor, weapons, or the split from historian. Get as much as you can.

I would consider the matter closed. Personally. It’s not the great fix, but it’s an acknowledgement, and allows us to replenish the loot that we would have gained. Every day down boosts the up time on exploit by one hour.

They still of course need to buff the skills and trees that need to be buffed. Sorry, yes, Trickster is still nerfed, especially since you found work arounds. Enemies need to be nerfed, especially snipers. Farming spots need to be left alone. Balances can be made, but not to the detriment of the players. We don’t need unneeded difficulty in a PvE game. People can still enjoy it. And they announce a DLC coming out in the next 6 months. That’s my deal. That’s the bandaid.

  7. This game has had it's fair share of bugs and issues at launch, which I know is frustrating for many, especially those who bought it full price rather than got it from game pass. But once those issues get fixed this game will be fun.

I do wish it was more open world and less linear path, but overall this game has been great!
