Outriders Review Discussion | Sacred Symbols+ Episode 92

People Can Fly’s third-person cover shooter Outriders is one of 2021’s most pleasant surprises so far, and it’s garnered a lot of attention particularly on the Xbox side of the fence, where it’s ‘free’ with Game Pass. But platforms aside, two amongst the Last Stand faithful — MrMattyPlays and yours truly (Colin) — are especially enamored with the game, and we wanted to dedicate some time to talk about why. Indeed, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to spool up a very special episode of +! So let’s travel to the faraway planet of Enoch, friends, where a crumbling Earth’s last hope rests… and where humanity’s knack for strife will follow them, even to the stars. (As always, our review discussions fully spoil the game.)

  1. Game was awesome. I'm bewildered at the negative response. BTW you had to spend the money on other resources like titanium or droppods.

  2. When I discovered Matty's channel back in 2014 I honestly thought he was in his early mid 20's. very surprised when I found out how young he is. dude has been grinding since he was 17

  3. Couple things about some of your issues… 1. Running out of ammo frequently can be fixed with the right mod setup 2. You use the different currencies ALOT in the endgame. I love this game. I haven't played it in a few weeks now but I put in a good 60 hours as a Trickster. I don't think the story is anything special but the combat feels fantastic, the Bloodborne/Doom style kill to stay alive mechanic is awesome, and the mod/build customization system is really well done.

  4. I was enjoying the game until my save was deleted and by the time it was restored a month later my friends were done playing the game. So that sucked. Waste of $60. Probably wouldn't trust this developer again for a long, long time.

  5. Nobody is wrong about Outriders but you Colin lol. I played it and 100% it. It was average at best. Graphics sub par. Bugs and frame drops through the ENTIRE experience. Shallow enemy design as ever combat zone is a repeat of all the others. Combat is very fun but has little meaning because at launch the legendary loot system was broken and bad. Its funny that Cyberpunk, which is a great game, got toasted for all the bugs and performance, but because this was free on Game Pass now it's praiseworthy? The story is not good. The concept is good, but the acting and writing are quite literally terrible. This is coming from a writer. If this wasn't on Game Pass people would have cried that this was 60 bucks. It's a massive double standard. Same people cried that a fantastic game like Returnal was 70. This was 10 bucks less and infinitely worse. It's a AA game to max. Thats ok. But to say we are wrong for objectively pointing out its flaws is just blinding. This game does nothing better then The Division. In fact it does many things worse. So it's a 6 out of 10. Everyone knows this.

  7. Borderlands 3 is fantastic imo. I was lucky enough to just play it through on PS5, no performance issues there, and the fur main DLC are all top tier. In fact, I enjoyed a lot of the DLC stories even more than the main game.

  8. The whole live service conversation is simple to me, if I cannot play it offline then it is a live service. That is the whole point of live services, the game is only alive if the servers are running.

  9. I'll pick it up at half price. I can see myself enjoying it but had major FPS issues on PC when I tried the Demo. Waiting for some more patches until then. P.S I dunno why but it makes me smile seeing Matty and Collin Collab. LSM has quickly become my Gaming Home. Love the personalities throughout the Channel.
