Outriders – Support Devastator – Healing Shotgun with Statue Set

This is my first attempt at a Support Devastator, using the Life and Death tier 3 weapon mod that heals 33% of MAX HEALTH to players. This build is not the stablest solo build, but is clearly capable of CT15. I have been able to heal teammates for over 100k in multiplayer sessions, not including whatever Statue set’s weapon leech boost provides them.

The build’s max health is 34,000, which means you heal your teammates for a bit over 11k every time you proc Life and Death by killing an enemy with the selected weapon. It also uses the 3pc Statue buff to boost teammate’s weapon damage and life leech by 100% while Golem or Tremor are active.

Getting high weapon damage is very important for this build because it heals the team by delivering killing shots to enemies. As such, the build is built around weapon damage, armor reduction to enemies, lengthening Tremor and Golem duration, and applying bleed to allow for more damage. (Bleeding Impulse is great for making sure all nearby enemies are taking full damage from your attacks).

Here is a list of the weapon damage buffing contributors:

Statue 3pc Set (50% vs bleeding)
Statue 3pc Set (100% while golem/tremor are active)
Power of the Stones (40%)
Tainted Blood (25% vs bleeding)
Bloody Boost (15% vs bleeding)
Personal Space (25% vs close range)
The Cycle (30% based on regen)
Vim and Vigor class node (30%)
Champion class node (45% for 10s)
Havoc node x4 (32%)
Shotgun Adept, Shotgun Master (27%)
Brawler x2 (30% close range)
Bull’s Eye (20% crit damage)

Armor debuffs to enemies:
Asunder (20%, Earthquake, permanent)
Panzer Drain (33%, Earthquake, 5s)

Deathshield is the primary weapon of choice – Fortress helps significantly to bolster your defenses, it provides close range damage, boosts your healing received and very importantly, gives good weapon life leech which synergises with your Statue 3pc set bonuses. With deathshield I can get crits a little higher than 400k while soloing. Not bad for a Dev shooter.

Guillotine is mainly there as it’s reload provides a nice AOE damage/stagger, and more importantly, AOE vulnerability to all nearby enemies. With Guillotine I can get crits of up around 630k while soloing.

Rotation:
Golem up for Bleeding Impulse (remember, you do like 1.45*1.5 damage to bleeding enemies), and for the 100% weapon damage buff (Statue 3pc set), and for the 40% weapon damage buff (Champion skill tree node).

Run to close range.

Fire a shot with Guillotine shotgun, then reload dealing big damage and afflicting them with Vulnerable.

Switch to Deathshield, aim for the head.

Apply Tremor as Golem runs out for more healing while in close range with enemies, and to sustain a 100% + 40% weapon damage buff to you and the team. If Golem is no longer active, melee enemies before shooting them to make sure you get that massive vs-bleed-dmg buff.

Other considerations for the build:
The last node points in Havoc and Brawler could instead go to Colossus and Outrider Commander – This would give you more max health (good for Life and Death healing), and boosts healing to you and your allies by 20% (also very good for Life and Death healing). However, as it is already hard to get weapon damage high and reliable for Devastator, and because getting killing shots is absolutely key for this build to be functional, I decided that weapon damage was a more reliable way to heal your team. I have not tested this explicitly.

If you’re sick of reloading in fights, you could also take out Champion and one of the Armorbreaker nodes in order to take Bulletstorm (20% faster reload) and Ammo Stockpile (increase magazine size by 50%) so that you’ll reload faster and less often. In my experience, it became easy to accidentally chew through too much ammo with these 😉

Finally – A mod like Crush Sequence could comfortably swapped out for Golem Squad to give yourself a longer Golem, and your team some sweet, sweet damage reduction. This would be preferable, I was just lazy in setting it into the build. I’d consider replacing Crush Sequence for it, because it’s so good.

Enjoy!
