The ending felt… I mean, getting the pods down was good and all, but the details surrounding it, like the trailing refugees? It felt like a contrived tonal shift to shoehorn Sydney into being a messianic figure rather than someone who was trying to make sense of a senseless world. There's was no closure one liner after the boss battle in reference to Yakub, too, which really cheapened the setup of his killer as a recurring antagonist.
