Outriders is a third-person shooter video game that takes place in a fictional universe where humanity has fled Earth and settled on the planet Enoch. The story begins with the player’s character, an Outrider – a group of elite soldiers tasked with exploring and securing new planets for humanity – arriving on Enoch to assess its suitability as a new home for humanity.
However, things quickly take a turn for the worse as a mysterious energy storm known as the Anomaly erupts on the planet, killing many of the Outriders and altering the surviving Outriders with superhuman abilities. The surviving Outriders are placed into cryosleep and wake up 30 years later to find that Enoch has become a war-torn and divided society.
As the player progresses through the game, they uncover the dark secrets of the various factions that have emerged on Enoch, including the authoritarian ruling group known as the ECA, the brutal warlords known as the Altered, and the religious zealots known as the Insurgents. The player’s mission is to unite the remaining Outriders and stop a powerful and ancient evil known as the “Grand Marshal” from destroying humanity.
Along the way, the player will encounter various NPCs and enemies, engage in intense battles, and make choices that affect the game’s outcome. The story also explores themes of colonization, survival, and the consequences of humanity’s actions.
