So this build is very similar to my pyro build you’ll recall. Only major difference is I do slightly less damage but am slightly more tanky lol. My pyro debuffs better while this techno build buffs and heals the team better. However this is one of my first techno builds. My pyro build really stemmed from this one. I used cryo turrets over blighted rounds on this build until they buffed Quartermaster mod so now I can keep up my rounds just from fixing wave. I now use blighted rounds not for raw gun damage at all (just like I don’t use volcanic rounds or even the top skill tree on my pyro build for gun damage interestingly enough) but for the further debuff toxic damage stacking with freeze and boosted vulnerability (as well as the fact toxic always hits elites so I don’t have to worry about losing the vulnerability debuff anymore from bosses resisting frost). Moreover I’ve also just since learned it even helps my tanking immensely on a build that requires max status power and cool down, so inevitably my skill leech will not be as high.
So some observations:
Yes this is one of the few where you see I don’t use a weapon leech with death chains finally as my primary. Damage over time mods on guns activate your weapon leech healing.
However thanks mostly to blighted rounds with my max health alone, my weapon leech still heals me quite a lot. This is because not only is my gun damage decent at least but blighted rounds causes AoE gun damage which yes ALL of that damage heals you as part of weapon leech. So technos have the best gun skill for weapon leech healing.
Painful Chill is mostly there just for further skill leech healing. A mob of enemies heals me back to full just from cold snap now meaning both my abilities basically heal me to full now.
Blighted rounds also helps my skill leech healing. By having a good balance of status power and skill leech boosts, my toxic damage is very good for healing that is: I do over 7k every tick with toxic which means with 31% skill leech even 1 enemy with toxic is healing me a good amount. But obviously most of the time I have toxic on several enemies.
I mention all this to show you how this build despite investing far less in skill and weapon leech as my pyro or other techno turret build is still a huge tank. It’s a combination of effects: endless blighted rounds especially helps bolster both my healing. Status power is there for the freeze as a support build mainly yet indirectly helps my healing by toxic damage increasing. Finally I still have the health regen buff from fixing wave that gives me tons of extra base health regen most of the time stacking with all that too. Finally I just still have max health and good armor and both my abilities heal me to full too.
Now I will say this build is not as tanky as my techno turret build who has way more skill leech and the 3 turrets means he’s getting GOOD heals virtually forever even when he’s frozen or stun locked whereas this build still mostly depends on shooting to heal constantly, though the toxic and health regen buff help some at least in those bad situations.
But this build is meant to be more support based than tank based compared to my turret build. Yet as you can see…it’s still a huge tank and yes can solo Eye of Storm easily too…
While my techno turret build is better for tanking and just having fun with turrets lol…this build is much better at “carrying” through most expeditions (EOTS being the only exception) and offering far better utility from the max status power cold snap as well as just doing slightly more damage with much better AoE damage.
A very very good “support” build techno I must say that is also still an unkillable tank. What more could you ask for from a techno?
