  1. I have played Outriders for 10 hours and this is how I feel:
    Positive
    – The story is a nice change from other looter shooters and it is good the game is story driven
    – The abilities are fun and unique.
    – The combat is mostly fun but feels somewhat wonky at times
    – I played the Devastator and really liked the class. The other classes also look good.
    – The enemies can be challenging but I feel like the AI could be increased a little bit
    – The loot is good. I like the design and game mechanics of armor and weapons.
    – The visual design of enemies is good
    Negative
    – The camera shake in the cutscenes are horrible… to the point where I almost felt seasick each time and this needs to be addressed. For the love of god, fix this ASAP.
    – The gun sounds are pretty basic and lack some impact
    – The cover mechanics are not very good and should be updated to be more smooth
    – The dialog of the characters are cheesy and mostly "meh" despite fine performance of most of the voice actors.
    – Character custamization is limited
    – The introduction feels flat and has no real impact despite having a very interesting premise but I respect the game just wants to jump right into the action. I know this is a personal taste but I don't like that the story is moving towards the main character being " the reluctant savior" and he/she alone is turning the tide of the war. I would have liked that the main character was a part of an elite group that fought for the resistance, to explore the unknown and find a way out of the valley. This would also make more sense and align with the title of the game "Outriders".

All in all, this seems to be a fun game and I have already bought it on steam. I don't have any high hopes for it to be amazing but it has caught my attention. I want to see where the story goes and experience more of the combat, loot and what the world of Enoch has to offer.

  2. I love the game. I don’t think it’s perfect or exceptional in almost any category except the loot game itself. And that’s fine. I don’t want another destiny or division clone and the story’s cool too. It seems like it’s not taking itself too seriously like when it says “Eyes up, outrider” as a direct reference to destiny. Seems like the story will have the same vibe as Borderlands. High in-world stakes but decent/good characters who are funny and keep the jokes (funny or not) rolling in.

  3. I usually don't go for looter-shooters but this game has a Mass Effect vibe to it alongside movement that reminds me of Final Fantasy XV with the mechanics working on its favor – simply, it feels good to play.
Loved the yellow and blue classes, hated the red (which you loved), didn't play green. So I think there's something for everyone.
The story is fun (except the shaky cam) and I wanna see where it goes. The game could have more customization, but I really like it overall.
It was only the second pre-order I've ever made in my life.

  4. Was playing RDR 2 last night and once again thought of you and why in world you wouldn't be doing a walk the walk on this game. I'm only harassing you on this because I respect your take.

  5. The opening prolouge SUCKS.
I thought it was a cheap Gears knock off… But I played through it and once the game opens up, it's a really fun grimy, gory, crunchy fun shooter, very much Gears-ish but has enough to not be just another clone. And I really started to like the story, characters & dialouge the more it went along.
It's a definite buy for me when it launches.

  6. I’m a destiny 2 fan and the division fan so it did feel familiar, which I liked. I like the story a lot the gameplay feels like a just chill kinda game you can put hours into. However the more I played the less fun it got for some reason.

  7. The need to fix the audio for sure. The FPS was lacking in some areas too. Like the voice or movement weren't in sync. That was the worst part of my experience. I'll have to try out the other three of the characters. I prefer the snipe class usually, so I picked that one. The rocket barrage is fun as hell to use. The ice turrent is great for slowing down enemies while you pick them off from a distance.

  8. Feels like anthem without the flying… or bugs. Love it. My only complaints are pyromancer is the only class relies on cooldowns to heal, and the cover system is very Mass Effect 1 where often you try to get in cover and it won't let you and often you get stuck trying to get out of cover it won't let you

  9. Tried the demo and this game is not for me. Not big on loot rpg style games. Still waiting for that big ps5 game that makes me say amazing. Still early with the new system so I'll be patient.

  10. I considered it a trashy grind looter shooter that bored the hell out of me. I wanted the story, but the cut scenes were terrible; voice acting was mediocre, and the game was just bleh.

  11. Seems like now a day if there is no crafting or dialog driven story heavy, this game might be a 6/10

Whats at stake in this game?

I might read up more about it.

  12. Outsiders Demo: Rate 4.1 out 5 stars Which I wasn't displeased with Demo content. I actually was in shock at first playing Demo. I was expecting something cheesy that would make you feel like well this is exactly like other games of genre. Well, it's not that for sure actually left me wanting to know more of the story and characters which I'd say they did right by releasing Demo before launch which could help sales in matter of getting others to look past that this isn't just a game but a story of characters who you may like or not that just really have great combat features implemented

  13. Outriders is the perfect game on paper. People Can Fly have genuinely taken the time to understand what gives this genre of "looter shooter" a heartbeat and longevity. It has mastered customer service, transparency, business model, creativity, progression, rpg elements, and personal responsibility. But what it lacks is quality and polish. If I could slap Division 2's character movement and tight shooting onto this game, my pre-order would be in. Despite the Square Enix backing and price tag, this is undoubtedly a double A game.

  14. This, like every game nowadays has a release date of April 1st, and a reasonable purchase consideration date of April 8th.

Looks fun, might be another Anthem though. Ill wait for the games true release to be evaluated before making any decisions of my own.

  15. I was very intrigued by the story and world building. The skill trees look diverse enough, but I wont see the deciding factor until later. Those deciding factors are endgame and loot. I'll wait until after launch to see. I also have to say I hated the demo because I couldnt get it to work. It kept crashing in menus after I reached the hub on PC. I'll probably try it if end game looks good.

  16. it's a good game…. just not for me. idk the gun play is kinda playing backseat instead of the abilities, dont get me wrong thats cool nd all. its just not my kinda thing.

  17. I really like this game so far. Do I wish there was 1st person? Yes. Do I wish there was crouch and jump instead of a janky cover system? Yes. But otherwise, this game is scratching all my looter/shooter itches. The developers should also be commended for providing a free demo and committing to no live service / microtransaction nonsense. Two thumbs up. Pretty enthusiastic for release!

  18. Wish you could jump. You feel very grounded maneuvering around cover. The vaulting and snap to cover are things I believe the devs should be able to work on but right now it's a little difficult and doesn't always work as you would like.

  19. Endgame is the best bit, the scope for builds is crazy. Should’ve been the whole game IMO cos the story is cliched nonsense (doesn’t seem like it at first, gets worse)

  20. Good game but I have 3 complaints
1: servers with no offline option
2: feels like I’m getting boss spammed
3: arena areas are small with little exploration it’s very cut off to what you can do.

  21. Online only single player is soooo frustrating. This is just like Hitman 3 which has online only progression for items. Hopefully for the sake of outriders the devs are better at fixing it (H3 still has disconnects all the time for some)

  22. Outriders is horribly broken but I absolutely love it. Sleeper hit of the year. Once the more severe issues are fixed, and patched, and if you can find a couple buds to play with, it's well worth your time. That ending felt.. rushed.

  23. its just shooting things a lot and honestly that's fucken boring to someone looking for a exp you know … The story was so predictable and just generic to say the least. I guess for a shooter its alright as far as a game mehhhh
