Outriders: What I Like And Dislike By Level 25

Outriders is out today, but I’ve had two days with it now, and am pretty deep into the campaign. Some things are already emerging as clear pros, but there are a few cons and red flags as well.

  1. I gave it a shot. It just feels generic to me. Not a bad game, and i’m sure it can be fun at times. The level design is way too repetitive for me. Weapons feel very weak. Enemies are not very smart. Hope the game does well, but I think i’ll pass on this one.

  2. My biggest issue so far is all the connection issues. For a game with no dedicated servers, I would constantly lose or have horrible connection to my team mate….and my team mate was sitting in the next room on the same high speed internet with no problems on other games.

Then we started playing the game of who would see the dashboard of Xbox next, the game would just crash randomly. Then, we saw the multiplayer stuttering, but only if we were the second player, and noticed it even more when our friend got home and we hopped into their group. For a game that was built for 2-3 people co-op, the second and third person multiplayer experience is horrible first day.

Now, when we could play….I would agree with Paul. The enemies seemed to be just so basic, same guys, same guns, etc. Then the occasionally over powered captain that came out of nowhere to make it a challenge. Or I would take cover and suddenly enemies would spawn behind us and I couldn't just take cover and heal up a little. It's almost like their commercial is their philosophy…..get out there and be aggressive. When you fall back to get a breather or do a little defensive play, they just spawn more enemies…so I found if you just plow through it seems easier even if you die once or twice.

Their numbers also seem odd too. If you look at World Tier percentages, right now on 7 it shows a +285% legendary chance drop. I haven't seen a legendary at all in the game, not even in the demo. It's just the same greens and blues…

  3. Game is very fun with massive potential, but mission structure needs to have more variety, it gets repetitive doing similar mission types, also slightly more open level design. Keep the base game like it is but advance it through dlc and updates. With future expeditions being a mix between Destiny 1 raids and Borderlands 2 raids. This game has potential and I hope they invest in it

  4. Bro the beast enemies are infinitely harder than the human enemies. There anomaly abilities (aoe) don’t miss and their lunges do so much damage. I’m also level 27 on world tier 11.

  5. My only complaint, the servers don't work most of the time. When they do work, matchmaking doesn't work anyways. If you don't have any friends to play this game with you're kind of f*****.

  6. Damn played about 8 hours so far only level 10 done all the side missions so far though and listened to the dialogue I think I got lucky with my character matching his voice seen some clips and it doesn't match at all shame they didn't have a couple more options for each gender as the rest of the game feels really polished

  7. My biggest issue.. I'm on PC.. I have 3 monitors.. Mon1. LG CX 55' Mon2. Samsung QLED 43' Mon3. Dell 19' (portrait mode) I start the game, and it will start the game on the 19' monitor at 900×1440.. Which then I'm like okay cool.. I'll just let it load and change the display.. It loads, crashes…. Try it again same thing.. I go in to the display settings and disable that monitor.. Restart.. Loads, crashes… Restart.. Loads on the 43' that is set to 1920×1080 and shows me 1/4 of the screen to where I can't actually select or change anything.. I ALT-F4 out.. I disable the second display.. Restart the game.. It starts, loads, then crashes.. Start again.. Loads up at 900×1440 on my main display… I change it and finally I can get in the game..

So after 10 minutes of dicking around I can finally load the game on the screen and res that I want to play on.. The stuttering is real.. I changed the DLSS from ultra performance, down to quality and it goes away for the most part.. It's still there, but no where near what it was when I had it on ultra.. Play for about 40 minutes and the server goes down.. Okay.. Cool.. Go and rant about the monitor issue on Reddit.. Come back after re-enabling my monitors.. AND IF FUCKING TRIES TO LOAD ON THE 19' MONITOR AGAIN… OH MY FUCKING GOD!!!

  8. I can't even log on. Keeps telling me internet connection issues. Even though I can run Destiny and Halo with no problem. I can also download a game at 150Mbps. So yeah…I have no idea what's up.

  9. I hate the game. Mind you, I play a lot of Destiny.
I feel way too movement restricted and the continuous assault by the ads gets annoying. The enemies blend in too well and ALWAYS hit their mark especially snipers.
The game forces you into cover then when you use the cover, the ads grenade you out of it immediately. The gameplay loop is just not fun to me. I could go on but I’ll stop here.
