Outriders: Where We Are After Three Months

Outriders has been patched a few times now including one this past week. I go through both that and the state of the game overall after three months.

  1. I feel like Outriders is perfectly set up to be what future live-service titles should be in that it starts of as a feature-complete non-live service title which gauges player interest and if the game does well, once you fix it up the best you can then you can convert it to a live-service maybe. The problem is so many live-service games launch buggy, broken, and incomplete and are essentially hail marys because they're completely reliant on whether or not a sufficient fanbase develops around the game. At least with Outriders, they aren't screwed if they leave the game as-is now in terms of content, but they could also easily milk this for a bit more of what it's worth.

  2. We got to stop treating balance patches as "CONTENT" (Cyberpunk also does this same shit). Every time a balance patch drops fanboys are ecstatic that the game is completely fresh. Umm.. No it's not.

  3. As someone who's been playing on and off since launch, this is definitely the best it's ever been with it hopefully only getting better at this point. I agree they need to buff set bonuses as each class only has 1, maybe 2, useful bonuses. Chronosuit Trickster is really good though. If you don't have Instant Reload, you can use the Chronosuit bonus to keep your Twisted Rounds constantly up by activating Borrowed Time and then instantly cancelling it. If you have the Chronosuit Helmet, it causes a really strong AoE upon cancelling the skill. You also get additional armor when you use the skill for better survivability. It's really, really good.

  4. I wasn’t too hyped for Outriders when it was first announced then when it dropped I heard about the bugs so I stayed away. But I’ve kept my eye on it. When the patch fixing the inventory bug dropped and the legendary buff I started playing. Perfect timing because I didn’t have a lot of enthusiasm for Solstice of Heroes.

  5. Enjoyed your video and subbed and belled. However I think PCF have been anything but transparent. The so called improvements have taken way too long, their focus is, for the most part, misplaced, and their general treatment of the players has been appalling, and this has come back to bite them, hence the huge drop off in player numbers. I haven't played for a couple of weeks, but after seeing your video, I'll give it one more try. What class and class type would you recommend for the best chance to succeed in CT 15s solo? I have only played the anomaly Pyromancer solo and found it to be very limited, depending on which expedition you attempt. I'm on PC. Cheers, Harry.

  6. STILL BROKEN XBOX SERIES X still can’t sign in without it being a 30 minute Project and they wonder why PLAYERS ARE LEAVING quicker then anything. There are games that you can actually LOG IN 👎🏻🤦‍♂️ This Game is BEYOND BROKEN . It’s a great game when it works but sadly it is in critical condition and on ICU as a Vegetable………. Call me in a Year or so when there’s something new and it works 😂 Till then it’s on Life support 💩 to me

  7. I skipped out on destiny until taken king so there was a lot that I missed during the beginning and I still regret not getting it earlier. I’m afraid that this is will be the same situation but at the same time I played the demo and was incredibly bored the whole time. It’s a tough decision considering it’s 60 fucking bucks

  8. I think PCF has more homework to do on this game. I haven't heard a reason to come back yet. Maybe after some skill buffs… maybe.

If they make a sequel – the one big thing to change is the healing mechanic because it's terrible. Much like Anthem, this game was bad at launch and they have worked their butts off to fix it.

It probably needs a full expansion or a sequel before I come back.

  9. The set that gives you ammo for killing an enemy with melee… How did some of these even survive logic or play testing for that matter? Most of these sets are like some boring thing Bungie would make with their eight different Excel sheets telling them what to do while also taking multiplayer into consideration. There's no way the same people came up with all the armor sets. If it was the same person then they clearly ran out of time and threw stuff together.

  10. What you see as a good thing about having nothing but experienced players in expeditions is actually a bad thing. That means the player base is dwindling, shrinking and disappearing. Eventually all those "experienced" players will get what they want and get bored and leave. When that occurs this game is going to go the way of Anthem.

  11. Man this game is so good I've put over 200 hours in and just now started to get a little bored definitely worth the money just need some DLC and I'll be set.The problem now is when I leave my matchmaking open I've been getting alot of inexperienced players so I'm stuck carrying but I guess that's good cause the games getting new players still

  12. Set bonuses wouldn’t be so bad if legendaries were fully customizable with both mods being able to be replaced/updated. Just charge drop pod resources for the 2nd one.

Doesn't that suck so bad that when you get home from work and been sweating or you're working out and you're sweating and you want to get in a cold shower to cool off but you know as soon as you get out of the shower that you are going to be sweating but now you're sweating and your clean..it's disgusting I feel U Paul.

  14. Appreciate your work and agree with most of your takes here.. that being said you couldnt be more off about the chronosuit. If you’re using the helmet with aggressive teleport, you can use it like a moaning-winds lite that recharges every six secs, scales with fortress, generates shield, and reloads your anomaly rounds. It’s super, super good and outpaces most of what I see being touted as the ‘meta’ trickster ogake/venators fp builds
