As I’ve said before, Outriders is a brilliant game that unfortunately has a poor reputation due to issues with launches. The original launch had bugs and sever issues that made it unplayable for a lot of people, and the pre-order release of Worldslayer had some issues too. Outside of that though, the gameplay has always been great, and often overshadowed by the other issues that were present. Which is a huge shame, because if not for the launch issues this game would likely be a huge hit.

The DLC itself is a little on the short side, but most of the enjoyment comes from the gameplay and end game activities. After the campaign (in the area shown briefly at the end of the video), there’s the new activity Trial of Tarya Gratar that allows you to target farm for gear and has a few new bosses in it. I haven’t spent too much time in there as of yet, as I wanted to first get the video out for this. But I’ll likely post some other videos with gameplay of that. On top of that, there’s the new Pax trees which are ridiculously strong. At least for Pyro anyway, where you can constantly reset your cooldowns just by using your abilities. There’s the new Ascension levels which give you bonus stats everytime you level up, similar to Paragon levels in Diablo 3. And another big change is to all the armour, with the ability to roll with a 3rd mod slot which will make for some crazy builds. There’s a lot to farm for and builds that will be stronger than ever now.

This was my second clear of the DLC, as my first playthrough the recording wouldn’t play. So it’s probably a bit faster than what you’d see with a normal first clear. On top of that, the build I’m using here is stupidly strong. I haven’t played the game since the New Horizon update, and when I was playing then I was messing around with builds and accidentally deleted the entire gearset I had for my own Thermal Bomb / Eruption setup, which was way more fun and a little less broken than this one. It’s also something I spent a lot of time farming for to get exactly what I wanted, so I was a little bummed out at the time for that. However, this one is very effective, requires less specific gear to be effective, and makes quick work of everything… as you can probably see. That’s shown at the end of the video.

Overall, the DLC is a lot of fun, and I’ll enjoy playing through the new mode and buildcrafting along the way. If you’re looking for a big story and campaign, it doesn’t offer too much in that regard. But if you enjoyed Outriders already, or you want a game with loads of build diversity and fun gameplay, this is more of that but turned up to 11.

  1. if this game was more friendly towards solo players I would come back because I genuinely did really enjoy this game, I stuck around longer with it than most others seemed to.

  2. Hey dude, is it worth coming back to the game for this? I loved the game but dropped it once I ran out of things to do on it. Haven't played for a fair amount of time now but I do miss the gameplay
