How does one critique a game that they literally cannot access, even after buying it? Even if other people can get into the thing, should the critic not share their absurd experience? How forgiving does one need to be for the sake of a “AAA” videogame?

Outriders, developed by People Can Fly and published by Square Enix, is unplayable. Apparently I’m lying when I say this, but it’s the truth. Be it co-op or solo, I cannot start the game, and have been almost entirely unable to since it’s launch.

It’s so bad I need to seek a refund, much to the chagrin of people who are mad because of facts that I cannot change.

  1. Your schtick is wearing thin and the weird obsession with wrestling is off putting.

The rest of the video is just okay, but still pretty…well uninteresting and whiny. Much of it rehashed and could have been written in a parody of you. I've stopped watching bc this is kinda your thing now: weird, unfunny self-promotion and hyper grievance.

Your ego used to be sort of tongue in cheek but I kinda think you believe it now. I share this bc you used to have something to say and hope you can find something meaningful, insightful, or thoughtful to share and challenge us with in future.

  2. You know what I hate about your gender situation? I can't tell if you're trying to troll me or if I should respect you… And in either alternative I won't be getting a clear explanation of what it really means…

  3. Sad thing is, these kinds of problems only really happen with video games. If someone buys a something in an actual store, and it's not the product they expected, they're going to get mad.
Burt in video games, you get"fans" acting like the game is perfect and whenever someone tries to level even any form of criticism, they call you a hater.
imho, A fan of something, be it movies, video games, anime etc, is someone that can acknowledge it's strengths, but is also willing to acknowledge when it has fucked up; when it has problems.

  4. The things some gamers are willing to put up with – and worse, excuse! – never stop to baffle me. If I buy a new motorbike, take it home from the dealer excited for my first ride, and find it has a timed lock (or, as this connectivity issue IS: a DEFECT) that only lets me start the engine in 19 days – you'd bet I'd flip my shit. Why is this okay with games? Answer: it's not. And it's STILL not if only 50% of customers experience the defect. Should be a no-brainer you'd think.
